The place is fine, lots of history. Had a wicked nice chat with Roberto at the front desk about the building's past. But, man, it was freezing in the bathroom-no heat in there at all. Kinda took the shine off everything else.

The room was tidy and updated and had an excellent view of the cathedral. The location was marvellous and stunning, only 5 minutes walk to an austere Romanesque-Gothic cathedral.
As for me, the area was poor.

The breakfast meal was great and sensational with fruit, good strong coffee, tortillas. The double room was brand-new, included a hair dryer, a shower cap and bath sheets. The location was magnificent iN THE CENTER OF THE OLD HISTORIC AVILA, right next to an austere Romanesque-Gothic cathedral.

The hotel is conveniently located to explore historic Ávila.
The staff was indifferent and unhelpful, lacking support when I needed assistance. The overall cleanliness left much to be desired, with dirty towels left in public areas and a distinct lack of attention to detail.

In spite of the incident, my parents and their companion have told me that the hotel is very nice and welcoming.
I made a reservation for two rooms. One was a suite for my parents because it was a gift and other was a single room for the person accompanying them on the trip . they arrived at the rooms they found that they were given the rooms backwards. My parents didn't say anything because they didn't want to disturb their companion. I found out I called the hotel to ask them what had happened and to ask for another suite assuming the difference in price but they informed me that they were full. My disappointment was with the person who took care of me. At no time did he assume the mistake. He simply told me that the reception had been done by a colleague and that they would probably have been given the keys together and clients would have changed them. I find this unacceptable. In the end my parents. who were celebrating their wedding anniversary, were left without the suite I had reserved for them,

Location, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff.
They don't have a highchair in the cafeteria. If you go with a baby carriage in the entrance there are two big steps and no ramp. These are not very important details but if the hotel managers read this comment they will be able to solve it for future guests. On the other hand I asked in the cafeteria 3 small water bottles (1/2 litre plastic), when I asked what it was I had to ask again because I didn't believe it, 6,50 ?! I had to make them clear. I understand that it is a hotel, that the prices can be a little higher, and that everyone earns what they want from their product, but for a person who is staying in the hotel to ask that for 3 little bottles of water seemed to me like a robbery at gunpoint, I am a distributor and I know what I am talking about, the hotel costs the little bottle 0.15 ? (if someone in charge of the hotel is reading this and they charge more than he knows that his distributor is cheating him). In any case, 3min away on foot there is a sweet shop where they sell fresh 1.5L bottles for 0.90 euro (I think it's in the plaza de sta. teresa).

Great location, literally just next to the cathedral. Good breakfast. Traditional furnishing.
Hotel a bit run down, need a face lift for a four star hotel.

Location, location and location, palace at the foot of the cathedral, we paid a little more to have a view of the cathedral, another time we did not and we got an interior room that we did not like at all. time the impression was much better. building and common areas are very correct with wide and pleasant spaces. room is wide, bright and cozy. bathroom is a little dark but with the minimum services to have a pleasant stay. the room and bathroom have the characteristics of a hotel of its level. best thing about it is its location, allows you to enjoy the city both culturally and gastronomically. You can park your bags right in the cathedral square, to leave your car at night it is best to leave it just before entering the wall, it is a blue zone but very economical.

The location of Palacio Valderrabanos is unbeatable, right next to the cathedral. The charming atmosphere of this former palace adds character to your stay, and the spacious room I stayed in offered a good view of the plaza and cathedral's architectural grandeur. Breakfast was yummy, offering a buffet that would please most palates.
Bathroom noise.

The ambience and design of the building was delightful. The position within the town is second to none. Most of all we appreciated the hospitality and the ability to bring along our little dog. Thank you very much.

Location.
I'd really rate it a three-star rating. A lot of lounge and fine furniture on the entrance floor (pure window dressing) but the rooms, although spacious, are far from being a 4 star. I found a big hair in the bathtub and another one in the bidet. A lot of carelessness I think. The sheets even seemed to me to be rubbed and in a towel there was even a stain. A very bad impression. For two nights we were going to be there, it was not worth saying anything at the reception. The beds only had one sheet, not even a sad quilt. And just those days it was quite cool in Ávila. The cleaning ladies were making a lot of noise from early in the morning (8 a.m.), we were close to where they had their utensil room. The right staff, nothing else. In other 3 star hotels they have been infinitely more attentive. Here, they took our ID, told us our room number and that was it. In others, they tell you where to go to the elevator, they explain the operation of the dining room, for example, in case you are interested.., some explanation of the city, what to see... in short, the normal thing. Lazy for a four-star, no matter how much of a palace it is.

Perfect location. Old building. Balcony in the room. Good breakfast. Confortable beds. Recently done bathrooms (though in a questionable taste). Wi fi all over.
I would say it's a 3 and half star hotel. We've taken 2 rooms, one of them was directly up the kitchen and the smell was strong. It was also hot, and the air conditioning didn't work well. The hotel, itself looks a bit miscared, old, in need of a refreshment. And the TV was super small .
